He said,“Pauline is typing letters. She can't speak to you now!”
Then I arrived home at six o'clock yesterday evening. He telephoned again. But I didn't answer the phone!
Did he telephone again last night?
Yes, he did. He telephoned at nine o'clock.
What did you say to him?
I said,“This is Pauline's mother. Please don't telephone my daughter again!”
Did he telephone again?
No, he didn't!

awe(敬畏;恐惧)+ful
【义】
awful一般用作形容词,表示“可怕的;糟糕的”。如:
The appearance of the giant was truly awful.那巨人的外貌确实很可怕。The weather is awful today.今天天气坏透了。
awful也可以用作副词,表示“极其”。如:
She's awful cute.她非常可爱。Clint is awful smart.克林特机灵极了。
