芝加哥艺术博物馆（The Art Institute of Chicago 简称AIC）是一家有百年历史的世界级大馆，其亚洲艺术品收藏举世闻名。全球博物馆名称叫Institute的并不多见，由此可见AIC的立馆宗旨不仅仅是收藏，而更多是研究和教育。国外博物馆不定期出售一些藏品属于博物馆运营的常规举措，不应进行过度解读。博物馆释出的东西，通常不是博物馆最好的藏品，且往往存在品相上的瑕疵，但这并不妨碍藏家们趋之若鹜，因为这些器物有着极佳的传承，是器物，更是文化。对于普通藏家而言，能买到国际一线大馆的旧藏是一件可以引以为豪的事。纽约佳士得本季从AIC征集到较为重要的瓷器等84件，重要器物包括一对体量硕大的万历五彩鱼藻纹大蒜头瓶，及乾隆青花大天球瓶、品级很高的黄地青花器，人见人爱的康熙单色釉文房等精品。另有110件价格较低拍品自9月10日起将通过网络拍卖方式出售，其中也有一些性价比很好、颇值得玩味的东西，玩家们不要错过。（估价为美元）
