安德烈亚斯·舒尔茨（Andreas Schulze），1955年出生于汉诺威，他在抽象和概念艺术主宰话语和市场的时代，开始创作具象绘画的画家之一。1976年至1978年，舒尔茨在卡塞尔Gesamthochschule(现卡塞尔大学)学习绘画，之后转到杜塞尔多夫艺术学院Düsseldorf(杜塞尔多夫市艺术学院)，在那里师从迪特尔·克里格(Dieter Krieg)直到1983年。现工作和生活在科隆。

Andreas Schulze的工作室由两个部分组成:工作空间和休息室。这个休息室应该被命名为“Wohnzimmer”，是一个艺术装置。这里满是来自跳蚤市场和古董店的物品，安德烈亚斯几乎去每一个地方的时候都会去这些地方。

艺术家从现实出发，把日常形象抽离出来，转换到新的环境。使日常物脱离最初的语意，这些物品没有失去它们与现实的关联，也没有失去它们的易读性，但这种异化剥夺了这些物品的内在价值，并将它们发展成复杂的发人深思的作品。
