味道；闻到；发臭

smell

Dinner smells good.

饭菜闻起来很香啊。

I could smell alcohol on his breath.

我闻得到他呼吸中有酒气。

Your feet smell.

你脚真臭。

臭的；糟糕的

stinking

I was pushed into a filthy, stinking room.

我被推进一间又脏又臭的屋子里。

I hate this stinking boring job!

我太讨厌这份无聊的工作了！

03.

臭烘烘的

foul-smelling

She walked in a foul-smelling prison.

她走进了一间臭烘烘的监狱。

When attacked, they spit a foul-smelling oil from their gut.

遇到攻击时，它们会从内脏里喷出一种恶臭的粘液。

有霉味的

musty

The room smelled musty and stale.

这个房间闻起来有股发霉的陈味儿。

When the door was open, a musty smell came from the room.

打开门，一股霉味扑面而来。

浓郁的，刺鼻的

pungent

There was a pungent smell of burning rubber.

有一股烧橡胶的刺鼻气味。

The air had a noxious, almost pungent, smell that makes eyes water.

空气里有种有毒的刺激性味道，会让人流眼泪。

fragrant

The air was fragrant with scents from the sea and the hills.

空气中荡漾着山和海的芬芳气息。

The air in the garden was warm and fragrant.

花园里的空气又温暖又芬芳。

芳香的

aromatic

John stiffly lent himself to her aromatic embraces.

约翰僵硬地接受了她满身香味的拥抱。

The air on the streets is heavy with the scent of aromatic spices.

街道上满是浓郁的香料气味。

香甜味道的

sweet-smelling

She bought me a bunch of sweet-smelling flowers.

她给我买了一束散发着馨香的花。

With all these sweet-smelling misty trees around, she couldn’t sneeze.

perfumed/ scented

Champenois wines can be particularly fragrant and perfumed.

香槟酒会特别浓郁芬芳。

The soap is scented.
