下面我们继续本周《新概念英语2》第63课的重点句型或语法的分享。先来读一读课文：

一、课文原文 

Lesson 63 She was not amused

Jeremy Hampden has a large circle of friends and is very popular at parties. Everybody admires him for his great sense of humour–everybody, that is, except his six-year-old daughter, Jenny. Recently, one of Jeremy's closest friends asked him to make a speech at a wedding reception. This is the sort of thing that Jeremy loves. He prepared the speech carefully and went to the wedding with Jenny. He had included a large number of funny stories in the speech and, of course, it was a great success. As soon as he had finished, Jenny told him she wanted to go home. Jeremy was a little disappointed by this but he did as his daughter asked. On the way home, he asked Jenny if she had enjoyed the speech. To his surprise, she said she hadn't. Jeremy asked her why this was so and she told him that she did not like to see so many people laughing at him!

二、重点句型或语法

本课主要学习间接引语的用法。

在第一单元的第15课中侧重学习的是直接引语为陈述句时的用法，即用that来连接间接引语。

而在第二单元的第39课中侧重学习的是直接引语为疑问句时的用法，即：当直接引语为一般疑问句时，用if或whether来引导间接引语；当直接引语为特殊疑问句时，用特殊疑问句中的特殊疑问词来引导间接引语。

而在第三单元的本课里，则侧重学习的是当直接引语为祈使句时的用法，常见的有两种情况：

一、当主句动词为say时

此时如果要把直接引语改为间接引语时，一方面主句动词say一般要改为tell或ask（此时表“要求”），另一方面间接引语要用不定式to do（直接引语为肯定句）或not to do（直接引语为否定句）。

比如：

直接引语：'Open the door for me please,' she said to me.

间接引语：She told / asked me to open the door for her.

再比如：

直接引语：'Don't make so much noise,' she said to the children.

间接引语：She told / asked the children not to make so much noise.

二、当主句动词为insist、suggest等表建议、要求等的动词时

这种情况下，往往会因为这些动词本身常见的用法而把直接引语改为that引导的宾语从句（间接引语），而此时因为insist、suggest等表建议、要求等动词的用法要求，其后that从句中的动词一般要采用“should+do”的虚拟语气用法，且should可以省略。

比如

直接引语：'Stay to lunch,' he insisted.

间接引语：He insisted that I should stay to lunch.

再比如：

直接引语：'Come with me,' he suggested.

间接引语：He suggested that I should go with him.

【注意】

在上面的第二个例句中，come改为了go，这主要取决于对话的场景是否发生变化。关于此类变化，到了第四单元里将进行详述，敬请期待。
