拉姆斯盖特是个荒凉的地方
没有毛榉树，没有草
更别说一条丰满的河流
拉姆斯盖特
群山吞没了阳光，秃鹰用双翅遮蔽月亮
红头发的梵高，被瘦弱诅咒
被瘦弱诅咒而头发变红的梵高
有时在凛冽的风里
有时在暴躁的雨中
用干瘪的脚掌，缝合绝望
拉姆斯盖特是个荒凉的地方
狼都不愿久居
何况一朵鲜花一匹马
甚或一个人，名叫乌苏拉

Van Gogh in Ramsgate

Ramsgate is a desolate place,
no beech trees, no grass,
let alone a plentiful river.
At Ramsgate,
the mountains swallowed the sun,
the vultures hid the moon with their wings,
and red-headed Van Gogh was cursed by thinness.
The emaciated, red-headed Van Gogh,
sometimes in fearfully cold wind,
sometimes in stormy rain,
roamed with his cracked feet to mend his despair.
Ramsgate was a desolate place;
no wolves wanted to hang around,
let alone a fresh flower, or a horse,
or even a person named Ursula.
