Students are able to master the new words “chair, desk, school bag, pen, pencil, ruler”. Meanwhile learning the sentence pattern “Is this a...?Yes, it is. No, it isn’t.Are these..?Yes, they are. No, they aren’t.”, and can use it in the real situation.

Students can master the new words and use “Is this a...?Yes, it is. No, it isn’t.Are these..?Yes, they are. No, they aren’t.” to ask and answer questions.

The pronunciation of “isn’t” and “aren’t”.
Students can use the useful expressions in a real situation.
教学过程
Step 1: Leading in
After greeting, the teacher will show a bag to the students, and let them touch and guess what in the bag? Students will get “book, eraser, pencil-box, pen, pencil, ruler” in the bag. And showing new words.
Step 2: Presentation
(1) The new words
(1) After touch things and guess, the teacher will draw pictures on the board and let the students guessing the words
T: what is this?
Ss: .........
T: Yes, it is a pen. What’s this?
Ss: It is a pen.
(2) Write down the words on the board and do the presentation: first read the words together and then read in different groups (boys group and girls group or group A or B).
(2) Having a conversation with the students:
T: Is this a pen, S1?
S1: yes.
T: yes, it is. Is this a pencil, S2?
S2: no.
T: Yes, No, it isn’t. are these school bags, S3?
S3:yes.
T: yes, they are. Are these chairs, S4?

Step 3: Practice
Listen to the tape and follow.
Play the game “guess what” by using the sentence pattern “is this...?” “Yes, it is. No, it isn’t./Yes, they are. No, they aren’t”.
One volunteer face to the students in the front, keep asking the sentence “is this...?” to guess the picture on the PPT. Other students will use “Yes, it is. No, it isn’t./Yes, they are. No, they aren’t” to answer the question.
Step 4: Consolidation
Group work: five students together, to draw some pictures of the school things we used in the school. And then showing on the stage, to ask other groups to guess by using today’s sentence pattern.
Step 5: Summary homework
Drawing a picture about your study room, and sharing in the next class, let your friends guess what in your study room.
