My friends and I determined to turn the imagination in the article "Anotherland" into reality, proposed the "anotherland", and set three phased goals, trying to use these actions to prove that what everyone thinks is impossible is actually possible Yes, freedom is in our own hands.
The first goal is to create a self-sufficient laboratory for a family of two in Mountain-Lao. This phase took 5 years and has now been completed. Through it to gather people in the same way, it is also a comprehensive study and adaptation to the new living environment for oneself who has never been in contact with the countryside. Action is not just using the mouth, but working on the land.
The second goal is to build a consensus community where multiple families gather together, stateless, and language boundaries. The goal is not directly through building a certain consensus or building a community. Instead, it takes at least 20 years to find and form a consensus, and then gradually form a community. This is what I am doing from 2015 to today. I am sitting at the Southern Life Community Experimental Base in Fuzhou, where this experiment is located, to communicate with you.
The third goal is to promote the communication and interaction between the consensus community outside the city and the urban social system. Let people change freely between different lifestyles more smoothly and harmoniously. Dialogue with world power groups based on our practical results, leaving the allocation of global material and cultural resources to the future to a greater extent, and allocating more space for diversified civilizations and lifestyles.
In 2015, at the invitation of ZhenRo Foundation, after repeated inspections, we finally decided to start a consensus community experiment in Fuzhou, China. And named the experiment code "Southern Life", because the initia members were almost all from northern China.
The beginning of the Southern Life Community Experiment was the discovery that under the current social situation, it is almost impossible to create a community. A few people have just realized that they have left the city, and very few explorers who are accustomed to being heterogeneous begin to create their dream homes. . However, the community is the home of people, and the inertia of a very small number of people can easily cause natural distrust. Because these people are accustomed to being unique, a group of people who are accustomed to being unique enters the unique crowd, and the uniqueness disappears. This also makes many people unable to get used to it. This has caused a lot of consumption of relationships and trust within the community. Often community promoters get frustrated and move towards isolation.
Jonas Marie DumDum
Therefore, I think the most important thing at the moment is that when various community consensuses are sprouting, what is needed is a nurturing soil for community initiators, and everyone considers their own dreams, and very few people first let go of their own thinking and achieve the dreams of others. Then why don't I start to act first? This is the original intention of launching the Southern Life Community Experiment: to provide future community promoters with a soil for experimenting, adapting to new roles, and learning to build trust and self-understanding.
As the first experimental site of Intentional Community in China, Southern Life is a collection of explorers of “social possibilities” from all over the world. Committed to the same mission and lifestyle, our members have created and shaped varied prototypes of communities, that are intended to be free from constraints of geography, privilege, policy, landscape, economy and educational level.
Here, everyone is welcomed to put their innovative and creative ideas to practice, simulation and trial. In doing so, we wish to generate more forms of intentional communities, and contribute to a process of global diversification.
In particular, we welcome “creators” rather than “joiners”, and expect members to participate in areas including but not limited to ecological construction, sustainable energy, natural farming, environmentally friendly daily necessities, organizational decision-making methods and other research practices.
People always complain about not being free, but I don't think we use the existing freedom.
People are educated to believe that many things are impossible. But the impossibility is just like the existence of God. If you believe that it is possible, it is possible, and if you believe that it is impossible, it is impossible. The possible and impossible lies in what you believe. In my mind, there is nothing impossible in the world.
People always stop because they believe that a glass of water cannot stop a fire, and if everyone does not even take out a glass of water, they will be burned to death sooner or later. And what if someone first spilled a glass of water to put out the fire? What if everyone took out a glass of water and spilled it out the fire?
I believe it is possible to stop the fire.
I am willing to be this person who splashes water, one cup and one cup till dawn.
