想象另一种童话：贝儿长得平平无奇又会如何？

A different view: What is Belle is not beauty?

So first of all, I do like the new adaptation.

The film filled the gaps and logical holes of the classical cartoon, for example, all villagers forget their prince. And it aslo added more humanistic clues for us to follow, the Belle's parents and the Beast's parents.

I cried over Belle's father talking about Belle's mother being different and fearless.

I cried over Mrs.Potts replying to Belle: yeah, we did nothing.

I cried over when Belles' trick on laundry is destroyed by the "headteacher" for punishing her teaching a little girl to read.

But still I can not quite get to the point of inner beauty. What if Bele is just an ordinary-looking girl who likes to read. Won't she win the beast's heart?

If the key is to have inner beauty, why name it beauty and beast? Can't we call it Reader and Beast?

The best part of the love is now transferring from compassion to love. Belle fell love with the Beast because of his taste of books.

You can say I am mean, I ask for too much. But Belle is not the one who read only romantic books and wishing her prince charming will be there.

And one adding line has been criticized a lot for being a bit acting is:

Beast: Bell, are you happy here?

Belle: How can one without freedom be happy?

That can be listed into my TOP3 lines in the film now. Comparing to the cartoon lines "I want to see my father again". This is much possible for Belle to speak.

Still, I am saying what if Belle is just a nerdy girl who loves reading, or Belle is Bear, what kind of story it would be?

What if the beast is just a countryside boy with no manners, with no cheerful surroundings, what kind of story will it be?

It sounds more realistic.

But I guess that is the ultimate magic taking place everyday.

我当然坦然承认我对这部电影的喜爱，尤其是其中的几处改编真是赚足了眼泪和共情。

贝儿的母亲就是一个与时代格格不入的前卫女性，为了让孩子不受感染毅然让艺术家丈夫和女儿离开自己。贝儿的父亲虽然对妻子思念无比，但却给了女儿极大的发展空间，在山村女孩都目不识丁的年代让她可以畅游书海，怀着一颗勇敢善良的心行走在苍茫大地上。

野兽的母亲在他很小的时候就离世，他的父亲只是把在妻子床榻边的小王子带走，空荡荡的城堡里没有了家的温暖，而是充满了浮华与喧嚣。王子也逐渐成了父亲那样冷酷无情的翻版。直到诅咒降临，小王子身边的人也因此遭祸，才幡然醒悟“自己本可以做些什么”。

可总觉得哪里不太对啊？

如果野兽本来就是貌不惊人的村野少年

如果贝儿只是相貌平平的爱读书的少女

如果贝儿（她）是贝尔（他）

如果野兽是个被宠坏的公主

如果野兽身边没有仆人围绕

这个故事又会如何发展演化

这听上去好像挺稀松平常的

却又会是一个有意思的故事

就像每天都发生的日常魔法
