本课的拓展活动建议体现“健康生活”的主题,在语言知识上进行更多的融合。具体如下:

细化时间

可以将周末活动具体到时段或时刻,比如:I often play sports on Saturday morning and do some housework in the afternoon.

融合词汇

通过Word Bank进行分类示例,比如people、activities、places、new words I want to know,可以丰富学生的输出。尤其是new words I want to know,可以解决从“有话想说”到“有话能说”的问题。

拓展语篇

教材上有三个示范性的小语段。从语言难度上看,凌哥觉得可以定义为基础要求。从语言内容上看,差异化不大,无法很好地体现“健康生活”的主题。不妨展示不同生活品质的人不一样的周末活动,然后让学生给出评价(最简单的评价语句举例:I like Richard’s weekend.)。下面是两个不同语言复杂度的示范性语段。可以作为阅读理解的材料,如果您的学生有较强的语言能力,可以模仿独白。

Example A

Hi, I’m Richard. I’m 20 years old. On the weekend, I often play sports with my friends. We play football and basket ball. So I am strong.

Example B

Good morning, friends. I’m Fonda. I am 30 years old. I don’t do many things on the weekend. Usually I get up at 8 o’clock and have breakfast at 9 o’clock. Why one hour? Because I don’t know what clothes to wear and what breakfast to eat. Sometimes I don’t have breakfast. I have a big lunch, well, a big brunch. In the afternoon I go shopping with my best friend Rebecca. We buy a lot of food and snacks. Then we have dinner together. We enjoy the food a lot. I wash my clothes in the evening. On Sunday, I eat the snacks for breakfast and lunch. And in the afternoon, I play some sports or walk my dog in the park. For dinner, I don’t eat much. Usually I eat some fruit and chocolate, and drink some juice. Well, my name is Fonda, but you can call me Foodie.

Hello, I’m Louis. I’m a student. I’m very happy on every weekend. On Saturday morning, I listen to music and do my homework. On Saturday afternoon, I have music class. I like playing the piano. On Saturday evening, I go shopping with my family. On Sunday morning, I stay in my bedroom. My bed is my good friend. I have breakfast and read books in the bed. Sometimes I use my computer in the bed. On Sunday afternoon, I meet my friends in the zoo, in the park, in the library. Weekend is a party time for me.

如果将这一页作为B部分的第二课时的话,学生应当能够延续Let's talk部分自编对话。既然是Group work,就应当要求学生有能力开展比较自由的对话,而不是用What do you often do on the weekend?来机械问答。
