芒种 Grain in Ear

芒种是一年之中第九个节气，始于太阳运行至黄经75°，止于太阳到达黄经90°，尤指太阳位于黄经75°当天。芒种对应公历约6月6日（西半球为6月5日）至6月21日。芒种意味着“有芒的麦子快收，有芒的稻子可种”。芒种期间，长江中下游进入梅雨季节。

Grain in Ear is the ninth solar term. It begins when the Sun reaches the celestial longitude of 75° and ends when it reaches the longitude of 90°. It more often refers in particular to the day when the Sun is exactly at the celestial longitude of 75°. In the Gregorian calendar, it usually begins around June 6 (June 5 the Western Hemisphere time) and ends around June 21. “Grain in Ear” means it is the busiest time to harvest the wheat and seed the paddy rice. During this period, areas around middle stream and downstream of the Yangtze River enter the rainy season.
