3.17.1-less=without没有；无
【后缀-less表示否定源于单根词less，less是little的比较级，表示“较少的；更少的”，由少而无，逐渐表示否定。-less有两层含义：
-less=without没有；无
-less=not doing；not affected by不做；不受影响
注意两个词词义的区别：
priceless无价的, 极贵重的（price价格）
valueless无价值的（value价值）】
(1) less [les] a.较少的，更少的 ad.较少、更少【little的比较级；“由少而无，表示没有”】
(2) breathless ['breθlis] a.气喘吁吁的， 断气的；屏住呼吸的

(4) endless ['endlis] a. 无止境的， 没完没了的【end [end] n.末尾，最后部分；头，端；目的 v.结束，终止】
(5) guiltless ['giltlis] a. 无罪的， 无辜的【guilt [gilt] n. 罪行；内疚 guilty ['gilti] a. 有罪的；内疚的】
(6) hopeless ['həʊplis] a. 没有希望的， 绝望的【hope [həup] n./v.希望，期望】
(7) homeless ['həʊmlis] a.无家可归的
(8) harmless ['hɑ:mlis] a. 无害的， 无恶意的 【 harm [hɑ:m] n./v.危害，伤害】
