月 夜 扎西尼玛

天上卧着一头白牦牛

养育一群孩子，看护它们一个个发光

它们当中，离开的几个

尚未原路返回

我背起行囊，走下噶玛岗高原

黑乎乎的峡谷，一只野狗，突然扑来

撕破我的魂魄

那时起，我一直怕狗

怕晚上一个人独自外出

山顶的白牦牛

身披寒凉月光，装满一肚子风儿的话语

渐渐低矮

成为一盏长明灯

我把风干的牛头颅骨，悬挂在房间的墙壁

每到月夜，我总能听到

那空阔的嘴巴

念叨吉祥的祝辞

Moonlit Night

A white yak reclines in the sky,

a bunch of children around her, well cared for and blinking.

Some of their siblings have roamed away,

yet to trace their way back.

With rucksack on my shoulders, I walked along Karmagang Plateau

and headed down a darkened canyon, where a dog jumped out at me,

almost tearing my soul apart.

Since then, I have not recovered from the fear of dogs,

nor the fear of roaming alone at night.

A white yak reigns on top of the hill,

cloaked in cool moonlight and listening to every prayer in the wind.

It gradually descends

and becomes an eternal flame.

On the wall of my room I hang the empty skull of a yak.

At night when the moon is high, I can hear loving blessings

voiced from her cavernous mouth.
