亚洲艺术中心于2020年12月9日举办第二十二期亚洲讲堂,此次讲堂于“天空之后——王劼音水墨新作展”期间举办,特别荣幸地邀请艺术家王劼音、策展人夏可君作为主讲嘉宾,就艺术家王劼音的水墨艺术展开对话,让我们看到老一辈艺术家如何在耄耋之年还能有着如此的创造力与活力。王劼音从自己版画的重复与多联方式出发,辅以油画的创作方式,又回到水墨精神的原点,以抽象的点线重构整个中国传统的文脉,形成了自己多维空间重构的艺术语言。
作为40年代出生于上海的老一辈艺术家,王劼音的艺术创作始终根植于中国传统艺术的脉络。他游刃于版画、油画、水墨等多种绘画形式语言之间,同时又以朴素的精神、书写性的绘画实验、为中国水墨绘画注入了更新的力量,并将古老的视觉经验重新塑造于新的审美意象之内。
本次展览由夏可君担任策展人,展出王劼音作品共三十余件,均为艺术家依据亚洲艺术中心空间所特别创作的全新的水墨作品。“天空之后——王劼音水墨新作展”,是继2014年今日美术馆“云起——王劼音作品展”、2016年龙美术馆“风间云度——王劼音个展”之后艺术家的再一次大规模作品呈现,同时也是其在北京首次水墨创作的大型个展。
此外,“天空之后——王劼音水墨新作展” 入围雅昌月度2020年11月画廊影响力榜单。


“我去维也纳留学的第一个收获是要学会自己走路,自己感悟。艺术家要和时代有关系,所以要知道世界艺术发展的状态,要能看到前沿。我们不是要赶潮流,但是要赶艺术发展的状态。我的画是自然生长出来的,所以会和现代社会有自然的契合。我特别强调画面的构成、线条的关系,而描绘的主题是次要的。

我在水墨作品里大量使用’点’始于一次偶然。一次我画坏了一幅水墨画。一般水墨画家作品画坏都会丢掉,他们强调一次性成功,而我想试试能不能反复。我将画坏的地方点掉,然后呈现出意想不到的新的格局,非常有趣。有点像冬天下雪,遮住了大地上的杂乱。无数个'点’改变了原本画面的味道,去掉了小的细节,凸显气场。画'点’非常耗费时间。但我认为这种用时间的消耗换来空间上的深度,无比重要。比如我拿出三年前'点’的作品重新创作,这里面的时间和情感上的细微差异会增加画面的厚度。丙稀的'点’不会化开,有一定厚度;而墨点会化开,有浓淡,有深浅。水墨画强调挥洒自如和写意,'点’是工匠式的。我跟他们画的不一样。我觉得不一样才有意思。

第二个系列是'点构山水’。水墨的'点’和丙稀的'点’以不同的方向性和干湿、浓淡、轻重的色彩变化创造出动感和玄幻感。把自然的山水、现代的大都市和后现代的虚拟空间完美结合,呈现在一张作品上。

第三个系列则是几何化的'线缘迷宫’,王劼音再次改变了手法,从点走向了线,这一次是以’线'开始缘构出更为具有几何形的世界,让线自由地游走,突出线块的重量,空间凹凸的深浅,叠加的环套,家具式的纹理,外框的套框,辅以丙烯的色调,加入回旋的速率,形成迷宫的都市,石块的灵台,这是抽象几何与自然地理的幻化重组,建构出无数回旋与幻游的天空。

本次展览的第四个系列,与之前的几个系列相关,但更为体现出王劼音艺术世界的总体抱负,这就是他要重构出自己的'文化历史的图像志’,建立自己的'图像集’与文化历史的想象谱系,建构自己的'天空之上’的天空:从汉字的想象造型到中国宋代的山水画,他还试图发现中国古代器物的形状,汉画像拓片的魂魄余影,唐代壁画的斑驳残影,并且付诸于生命的舞蹈。因此,既有日常片断的随机重组,也有古典图符的还魂,拓片与版画,造型与表现,以其炉火纯青的技艺,在墨点的自由游戏中,幻化出灵动的多维空间,天地人神在共舞的节律再次在画面上得到了回想。

王劼音作品创作方式和精神让我想到清末的'锦灰堆’。有结构严谨的一面,又有破碎的一面,两者微妙重叠,结合的天衣无缝。他将西方抽象与中国传统、版画与布面油画进行了巧妙地融合。”
