Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay explaining why it is unwise to put all your eggs in one basket. You can give examples to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.
If individuals intend to avoid troubles or failures, it is not advisable for them to just make preparation in only one field. So, when hearing the saying “It is unwise to put all your eggs in one basket.” we can perceive its connotation. Apparently, this saying can be naturally associated with the people’s attitudes towards risks in life.
In daily life, it is a common phenomenon for us to face various choices when we make decisions. Meanwhile, a host of intelligent people find it more likely to succeed, if they make diverse preparations. Taking a look around, we can notice a great many examples like this: graduates with more talents can hunt better jobs; students can perform better in tests, if they make full preparation. It is full preparation that enables people to preserve other options, when they fail in one direction. As a matter of fact, wise people in large numbers have come to realize the importance of flexible preparation.
As a college student, I am convinced that it is of great necessity for youngsters to expand our opportunities. Thus, teachers should educate, advocate and encourage young people not to put all “eggs” in one “basket”. If young people try their utmost to enhance their various abilities, the future of their work and study will be hopeful and promising. (217words)
