爱尔兰著名诗人希尼的名篇《半岛》新译

《半岛》

当你没什么可再讲时，就驾车

绕着半岛兜它一天。

一如在风和日丽的机场跑道上空，

没有塔台的指令，你无法降落

不得不一次次飞越机场，与着陆失之交臂。

黄昏时分，地平线饮尽了大海和山岳，

犁过的田野吞没了刷白的尖形屋顶

而你再次回到黑暗中。此刻回想起

泛光的海滩和婆娑的树影，

把波浪撞成碎屑的岩石，

长腿鸟用自己的腿踩着高跷，

安然把自己驶进浓雾里的岛屿，

然后驱车回家，仍然没什么可说

只是此刻你会顿悟所有物象的

密码：万物无不脱胎于各自特有的形态，

无不起源于水和土壤。

说明：这首诗的翻译参照了几个中译本；这次侧重翻译了一些中译本中实在看不下去的第3、4、5句及最后两句。英文原作中倒数第二行的“clean”一词，与诸家的译法不同，我把“clean“这个词当作副词处理，字典释义为”彻底地、完全地、全然地“，在诗中我译作”无不“。
