二、每课一句
Are your friends Danish, too?
注意句中的friend后面加了s,用来构成复数形式。本课的重点语法就是名词的复数,只是侧重学习的是规则变化。
名词复数的规则变化一般是在词尾加s,常见的情况主要有:
1、直接在名词词尾加s,如:
books, eggs, boys
2、在名词词尾加es
此规则下又可以再分为以下几种情况:
1)以“伤心城市”结尾的名词词尾加es,即以“sh, x, ch, s/ss”结尾的名词,如:
fishes, foxes, peaches, buses / dresses
2)以“辅音字母+y”结尾的名词词尾加es,如:
berries, puppies, flies (苍蝇)
【注意】
以“辅音字母+o”结尾的名词词尾加es或s,其基本规则是:
1、英语本土单词一般都加es,如:
tomatoes, potatoes, echoes
2、外来语或是缩略词一般都加s,如:
photos, cellos, memos
3、有的单词两种词尾都可以,主要是英美语之间的差异,一般加es的是英式英语,加s的是美式英语,如:
mangos或mangoes, cargos或cargoes
