今天分享一首Avenged Sevenfold（七级炼狱乐队）的《So Far Away》。
可以说，这是一首来自摇滚乐队深情的民谣歌曲。通常来讲摇滚乐队很少用民谣作为表达方式。这首歌来自他们2010年的专辑《Nightmare》（噩梦）。整张专辑的曲风偏阴暗，之前我们推过他们的专辑主打歌《Nightmare》。今天推荐的歌意义很不同，有的时候噩梦并不是那些让你恐惧的怪物，而是好友的永远离开。
这首歌完全是由乐队的主音吉他手Synyster Gates写的，这也是Gates第一次尝试写整首歌的歌词。这首歌本来是他为他的祖父去世创作的，但由于乐队鼓手The Rev（Jimmy Sullivan）的意外离世。Gates决定把这首歌送给他，他修改了歌词，以这种最直接的沟通方式为他送别。
在The Rev去世后，这张专辑的鼓手部分由梦剧院的鼓手Mike Portnoy代替完成。和Rev一样，Portnoy也在与毒瘾作斗争。他在采访中说：“看到Rev或Slipknot乐队的Paul Gray发生的事情，我感觉很可怕，他们让我理解了成瘾以及它有多危险。如果你像我一样是个瘾君子或酒鬼，你不可能又长寿又幸福。你只有两条路可以走，要么戒酒；要么不可避免地进医院、机构、死亡或者进监狱。十年前我就看到了自己的命运。90年代末，我有一个刚出生的儿子和一个女儿，酗酒正在折磨着我，无论是身体上、情感上还是精神上。我必须做出决定。我想活下去。我想成为一个父亲，一个丈夫，为了我的家人，朋友和乐队活着。就在那时，我决定寻求帮助，戒掉毒瘾。”
