as far as 中的 far 可以指物理的距离，也可以指抽象上的程度

Far 可以作形容词，也可以作副词，主要意为“远的”，是一个不规则形容词或副词，它的比较级和最高级都有两个，分别是 farther 和 further，farthest 和 furthest，常用于搭配 as far as 中。

一、as far as 指物理上的距离
as far as 属于常见的 as …as 句型，表示同级的比较，意为”和…一样远，远至“等，指物理上的距离，此时的 as 可以是介词，也可以是连词，例如：
We'll go by train as far as London, and then take a bus.
我们坐火车到伦敦，然后转乘公共汽车。
We didn't go as far as the others.
我们不如其他人走得远。
Fields and hills stretched out as far as we could see.
放眼望去，田野山丘绵延不绝。
二、as far as 指抽象上的程度
当 as far as 指抽象上的程度时，常见一些搭配中，此时的 as far as 相当于一个从属连词，置于句首时，用逗号与后面的主句分开。
1. as far as I (can) know/see/remember/tell/recollect/judge …，意为“就我所知；尽我所记得的；依我看”等，例如：
As far as I can tell, it's an authentic antique.
据我所知，这是一件正宗的古董。
As far as I can see, you've done nothing wrong.
依我看，你没有做错任何事。
That's the problem as far as I can see.
在我看来，那就是问题所在。
She lived in Chicago as far as I can remember.

2. as/so far as sb/sth is(am, are) concerned，意为“就…而言”，例如：
As far as I’m concerned, the whole matter is no longer my responsibility and is now with the police.

We felt pretty safe as far as the fire was concerned.
就火灾而言，我们感到相当安全。
He's a mug as far as women are concerned.
在女性眼里，他是个傻瓜。
So far as he’s concerned, nothing is as important as his money.

3. as far as it goes，意为“在一定程度上”，通常指不足，例如：
It's a good plan as far as it goes, but there are a lot of things they haven't thought of.
这计划还算不错，不过还有很多事情没有考虑到。
It's a good job as far as it goes, but it may need more work.
就目前而言，这是一份好工作，但可能还需要更多的工作。
4. as far as possible，意为“尽可能，尽量”，相当于 as much as possible，例如：
Plan your route in advance, using main roads as far as possible.
预先安排好你的路线，尽量走大路。
We should stick to the original plan as far as possible.
我们应该尽量坚持原来的计划。
