背景知识：

米尔内钻石矿场是一个巨大的漩涡状洞穴，是世界最大的露天钻石矿坑之一。该洞入口直径达1200米，深约525米，相当于161层楼高。螺旋状的地洞之深，已使地球内部磁场与地表上空的空气形成强大气流。如果质量过轻的小型飞机飞过其上空，都能被这股气流吸进洞穴。

Tucked away in the depths of Siberia is the town of Mirny, a cityscape dominated by a massive hole in the ground. This open pit was once a thriving diamond mine. Mirny was one of the first places diamonds were found in Russia. The Mirmine is about 1,700 feet deep and is one of the largest mines in the world. While the mine is now closed, it stands as a testament to the small town’s perseverance against the harsh Siberian winters. Building the mine was a difficult task. It took seven years of miners battling winters for seven months out of the year. With temperatures hitting below freezing, digging was nearly impossible in the frozen ground. With this historic landmark, the small town’s record-breaking mine reminds its inhabitants that they are still a diamond in the rough.
