[语法] ''d 到底是什么的缩写，had还是 would？

我们看英语文章时，经常看到一些缩写，像是 I’d，they’d, she’d。

这个’d 到底是从哪个词简化而来，比如：

The boy watched TV for two hours by the time his mom came home.

判断的方法很简单，总共有三个方法：

1）固定搭配

英文中，会有很多固定搭配，比如：you’d better…（你最好…）、I’d like to…（我想要…）。

这两种固定搭配中的’d 前者是 had，后者是would，例如：

You’d better finish your homework first.

译：你最好先完成作业。

I’d like to thank my parents.

译：我想感谢一下我父母。

2）助动词

would 其实是 will 的过去式，而且也是个助动词。

If I were rich, I’d buy a yacht.

译：我国我有钱了，我会买游艇。

I thought I’d be late for work this morning.

译：我以为我今天早上会上班迟到。

3）过去完成时

The boy watched TV for two hours by the time his mom came home.

译：妈妈到家时，男孩已经看了两个小时的电视。

I’d already gone home when you arrived.

译：你到的时候，我已经走了。
