Ode to Mount Langya in Chuzhou City
Tr. Wu Haohao
Hills turn green in a warm spring.
Rills, clouds, what magic things.
Fields extend their wings,
O’er the Lake[1], a bridge looks like a king.
Gulls on water, ripples ring.
A sunset o’er the Temple[2] still shines.
The twilight is on th’ essay[3] fine.
Why not stay here[4], a place so divine?
With Ouyang Xiu[5] you drink wine,
And compose a lyric line.
Notes:
[1] It refers to the Shenxiu Lake.
[2] It refers to the Langya Temple.
