中文完虐英国熊孩子｜Mandarin Study Becomes Popular in Britain

For most Chinese learners, English study is some kind of abuse. But, fortune knocks once at least everyman’s gate. Now, it’s time for the British kids to learn Mandarin. As the predecessor, we can offer them a piece of advice—though Mandarin abuses me a thousand times, I treat it as my first love.
学习英语对于大对数国人来说有点虐心，不过风水轮流转，现在轮到英国孩子学习中文的时候。作为前辈的我们传授一条经验：汉语虐我千百遍，我待中文如初恋。
Lately, British government has established a Mandarin learning project of an amount of ten million pounds in total. Its goal is to promote Mandarin in Britain and develop British competitiveness in international market.
近来，英国政府推出一项中文学习项目，总价值达1000万英镑。目标在于在英国推广中文，提高英国人在国际市场上的竞争力。
At the beginning, it will launch a pilot project in 15 middle schools. Afterwards, it will be gradually applied to more schools. Over five thousand students in public schools will join in the project as the first to eat crabs.
中文学习项目会先在15所中学试点，随后再向更多学校推广。作为第一个吃螃蟹的人，5000多名公立的中学学生将会参加这个项目。
Then, in the following four years, they will study Mandarin intensively. And, in a week, the students have to study Mandarin for at least eight hours. Eight hours in a week! And according to the project, the first attendees can master English proficiently in 2020.
在接下来四年间，5000多名学生将会集中学习英语。一周至少要学习中文八小时。一周八小时哦！根据项目表示，再2020年的时候第一批学生能够熟悉掌握中文。
In 2013, David Cameron, the British Prime Minister, said that the British students should break the traditional habit of learning French or German and instead focus on Mandarin after he paid a three-day visit to China. Even, he quoted Nelson Mandela, who believed learning someone else’s language is the best way to their heart.
早在2013年英国前首相大卫·卡梅伦在进行为期三天访华的行程后表示，英国学生应该打破学习法语或德语的传统，改学习中文。甚至，他引用了纳尔逊·曼德拉（南非前总统）的句子--要了解一个国度的精神世界，最好的方法就是学习他们的语言。
And BBC broadcasts Mandarin teaching animation programs on TV. It aims at children from 4y to 6y. Mainly, Mandarin teaching displays with singing and games playing. And, it gets a great welcome. Some British parents support Mandarin studying and they insisted that the British officials should be informed of the importance of learning Mandarin systematically when the kids are young.
而且英国广播公司在电视上播出中文教学动画片节目大受欢迎，主要以唱歌和玩游戏的方式教授4岁到6岁的孩子。有些英国家长支持学习中文，而且他们坚持说英国官员应该了解从孩子年幼的时候系统学好中文有多重要。
