一、课文原文

Lesson 57 An unusual day

It is eight o'clock. The children go to school by car every day, but today, they are going to school on foot.

It is ten o'clock. Mrs. Sawyer usually stays at home in the morning, but this morning, she is going to the shops.

It is four o’clock. In the afternoon, Mrs. Sawyer usually drinks tea in the living room. But this afternoon, she is drinking tea in the garden.

It is six o’clock. In the evening, the children usually do their homework, but this evening, they are not doing their homework. At the moment, they are playing in the garden.

It is nine o’clock. Mr. Sawyer usually reads his newspaper at night. But he is not reading his newspaper tonight. At the moment, he is reading an interesting book.

二、每课一句

The children go to school by car every day, but today, they are going to school on foot.

本课主要是复习对比一般现在时与现在进行时的用法,需要注意这两种时态的标志词及其动词的形式变化。

(一)一般现在时

1、标志词

常见的是频度副词(也叫频率副词),如:

always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never

也有频率更高的表达,即every系列,如:

every day, every week, every Saturday

此外,today、tonight以及this系列的时间(如this morning),也常用于现在进行时。

2、动词的第三人称单数

因为受汉语的影响,很多人在使用一般现在时的时候,如果主语是第三人称单数,是比较容易出错的,他们往往会忘了要在动词后面进行第三人称单数的形式变化。

常见的动词的第三人称单数的变化规则是:

1、直接在动词后加-s,如:

work - works

play - plays

rain - rains

2、在动词后加-es,但这种情况分以下几种规则:

1)在以-sh/-x/-ch/-s/-ss结尾的动词后,如:

wash - washes

fix - fixes

watch - watches

miss - misses

2)在以“辅音字母+y”结尾的动词后,先改y为i,再加-es,如:

study - studies

cry - cries

fly - flies

3)以“辅音字母+o”结尾的动词后,如:

go - goes

do - does

veto - vetoes

【注意】

动词have的三单是特殊的,要直接变为has。

(二)现在进行时

1、标志词

常见的有:

now

at the moment

Look/Listen等呼语

2、动词的现在分词

动词的现在分词主要有以下变化规则:

1、直接加-ing,如:

work - working

play - playing

rain - raining

2、以不发音的e结尾的动词,先去e,再加-ing,如:

take - taking

arrive - arriving

joke - joking

3、以重读闭音节结尾的动词,先双写最后一个辅音字母,再加-ing,如:

stop - stopping

run - running

swim - swimming

【注意】

die、lie、tie等动词,要先改-ie为y,然后再加-ing。如:

die - dying

lie - lying

tie - tying‍

Mrs. Sawyer usually stays at home in the morning, but this morning, she is going to the shops. 

要注意动词的第三人称的词尾-s或-es的发音规则。

(一)-s的发音

一般情况下,-s的发音遵循“清清浊元浊”的原则,即:

1、-s如果接在清辅音后面,则读作清辅音/s/,如:works,其中的-k读作清辅音/k/,所以-s读作清辅音/s/。

2、-s如果接在浊辅音或元音后面,则读作浊辅音/z/,如:plays和rains,其中的-ay和-n分别读作元音/eɪ/和浊辅音/n/,所以-s读作浊辅音/z/。

【注意】

如果-s接在以t或d结尾的动词后面,则会与t或d一起发音,t和s读作/ts/,d和s读作/dz/,如:

cuts [kʌts]

rides [raɪdz]

(二)-es的发音

其常见的发音规则是:

1、在以-sh/-x/-ch/-s/-ss结尾的动词后,读作/ɪz/,如:

washes [wɒʃɪz]

fixes [fɪksɪz]

watches [wɒtʃɪz]

misses [mɪsʃɪz]

2、在以“辅音字母+y”和以“辅音字母+o”结尾的动词后,读作/z/,如:

studies ['stʌdiz]

goes [ɡəʊz]‍
