climb
【源】
直接源自中古英语的climben；最初源自古英语的climban，意为“抓住；爬”。
【音】
[klaɪm]
【形】
该词发音里没有/b/的音，所以在拼写上要注意不要漏了b。
【义】
该词用作及物动词时，表示“向上爬”。如：
We go to climb mountains every Sunday.
每个星期天我们都去爬山。
用作不及物动词时，表示“上涨”。如：
Prices have climbed by 21% since the beginning of the year.
年初以来，物价已经上涨了21%。
【用】
注意区分climb to和climb into：
climb to表示“爬到或升到…”，强调位置变化。如：
I climbed to the top of the mountain yesterday.
我昨天爬到了山顶。
climb into表示“爬进”，强调动作趋向。如：
She climbed into the lifeboat.
她爬进了救生艇。

1、creep
