我想知道，你是否有勇气

追寻内心的渴望。

我不在意，你曾在何方求学，

我想知道，当一切脱落殆尽，

内心还有什么在支撑着你？

我想知道，你能否与你自己共处？

享受并停留在这空寂的片刻。

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.

I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

你以何为生，我不感兴趣。

我只想知道，你因何而苦。

以及，你是否有勇气追寻内心的渴望。

It doesn't interest me how old you are.

I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

你年岁几何，我兴趣寥寥，

我想知道，你是否将为爱、为梦想、

为生命的伟大冒险，

而甘愿被看做一个傻瓜。

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon.

I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!

是什么磨平了你的棱角，我不愿知晓。

我想知道，你可曾触及内心最深的忧伤？

你能否历经生活的辜负而变得豁达，

或者，只因害怕再次的痛苦，

而紧锁心扉、逐渐干涸。

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.

我想知道，你能否与痛苦毗邻而坐，

无论这痛苦是我的，还是你自己的，

你都不会隐藏它、逃避它、修复它。

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own,

if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic,to remember the limitations of being human.

我想知道你是否能与喜悦常伴，

无论是我的，还是你自己的，

你是否能与野性共舞？

让狂喜充满你的指尖和脚尖。

而不是总在提醒我：

要小心啊、要现实啊、

要记得为人的种种局限...

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true.

I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trust worthy.

你口中讲述的故事，是真是假，无关紧要。

我想知道，

你能否尽显真我，不害怕令别人失望？

你能否身负“背叛”之名，却从不背叛自己灵魂？

你能否“背信弃义”，却因此“值得信赖”？

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.

我想知道，

你是否每天都能看见美，

即使它并不悦目；

你是否能够从生命的呈现，

回到生命的源头。

I want to know if you can live with failure, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, 'Yes!'

我想知道，你是否能忍受失败，

你依然屹立在湖边，

对着银色的满月喊道 : “Yes！”

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.

I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

我不关心你住在哪里，也不关心你有多少钱。

我想知道，

经过一夜的悲伤、疲惫、伤痛和绝望，

你是否还能照常起床，

给孩子做好一顿早餐。

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here.

I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

我并不关心你与谁相识，你如何来到。
我想知道，

你是否愿意和我一同站在烈焰的中心，

毫不退缩。
