科学网—趣味元素周期表

在准备专业英语的元素周期表的过程中，发现了一个有趣网站，整理一些有趣的元素周期表供欣赏。

 

公元前1000年，人们知道的元素有十种：碳、硫、铁、铜、银、锡、铂、金、汞和铅。

 

公元前450年，柏拉图最先提出“元素”的概念，古希腊认为世界的基本元素是火、土、水、空气（或者叫风，英文是air）。中间包围的是蓝天。

 

而中国认为的基本元素是所谓的“五行”：金、木、水、火、土。近邻日本则认为是风、火、土（或地）、水，中间包围的为“空”。详情点击这里进入——

 

经历了很长时间的探索，进入了简单物质阶段，1782年的（物质）元素表如下。

 

到1800年已知的元素有下列26种。

 

随着元素种类的增加，对于其周期性的认识也在萌生，最早体现8元素重复的是这个有趣的五线谱。

 

门捷列夫对元素周期性的研究持续了几十年，从1869年的第一版周期表，到1871年的第二版，再到1906年的周期表，奠定了现代元素周期表的基础。这期间人们对元素的认识至少在种类上有了大幅的增加，达到79种之多。

 

此后各式的研究思路和形式不断出现，在1926年就有多种周期表，这两张同一年的周期表，却有明显的不同。

 

1950年的周期表就被称作现代周期表了。

 

1951年为了英国的科学展览特意制造了一个这样的元素周期表。

 

另一个比较有趣的是1960年出现的变形虫一样的周期表。

 

到了1990's各类型的元素周期表层出不穷，来看三个世纪末的周期表吧。

 

进入到新世纪，人们对元素周期表的兴趣丝毫不减，比如这个出现于2001年的玛雅周期表，来源于古代中美洲的月历。

 

2003年的这张化学星系也是很有趣的，当然新世纪人们更关注在已知的元素之外还能出现什么。

 

同年还有一张很有童趣的大象周期表，要是仔细看，可以发现很多有趣有意义的信息，比如Am就是一头披着美国国旗的大象，再比如Y就是电视机中红色荧光粉的主要元素。

 

特别推介一下这张太极周期表，它的设计者是河北师范大学的王章乐同学。

These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard,
And there may be many others but they haven’t been discovered.
