Miss Fang: Class, there is one important thing that I want to tell you. We mustn't point at others with something sharp. It's dangerous. Got it?[Narrator: Here are three children. Mike is a lovely boy, but sometimes he is naughty. Our class monitor John is well-behaved. Jack is a quiet boy and he likes reading.One day, Mike, John and Jack are on duty. Mike picks up a pencil under the desk.]Mike: Wow, this pencil is beautiful. How sharp the pencil point is!John: Hi, Mike. Miss Fang tells us not to play with sharp things. It's dangerous. So, stop with that!Mike: Hey, why! I’m just looking at it.Jack: Ouch My eye! My eye ... Oh, no!Lucy: Are you all right, Jack? Let's go tell Miss Fang.SCENE 3 At Teachers' Office
Lucy: Miss Fang...Miss Fang...(running hurriedly)Miss Fang: Calm down, Lucy. Don't hurry. What's wrong?Lucy: Jack's eye got hurt. It's bleeding now. (Miss Fang stands up immediately.)Lucy: Mike and John did it.Miss Fang: Good girl. Let's go to the classroom together.SCENE 4 Return to the Classroom
Jack: (groaning painfully) My eye is hurting. (sitting on the chair and covering his right eye)John: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it.Mike: John, it's your fault. Why did you try to grab the pencil?Miss Fang: (she walks quickly to Jack )How are you, Jack? Don't worry. (She uses a clean handkerchief to cover his eye to stop bleeding) The doctor will come soon.(She calls 120 first and then the head teacher.)Miss Fang: (anxiously) Is it 120 the First Aid? A boy's right eye got hurt at Willowton School. It's bleeding now. Please come soon.Miss Fang: Hello ... Hello... Mr Wang. A boy's eye got hurt. It's bleeding. I've made an emergency call to 120.(She takes some pictures of Jack's wounds and takes out a piece of paper)[Narrator: Miss Fang decides to write down the whole process by students’ narration and to camera it.]Miss Fang: Lucy, Mike, John you come here.(In the meantime, she asks Jack to sit near her and hold the handkerchief) Can you tell me how it happened? (write it down)SCENE 5 The Families at the Hospital
Miss Fang: Parents, doctors are examining Jack’s wounds. Here I want to tell you the process of this accident....[Narrator: Miss Wang takes out the paper which records the process of the accident according to Lucy, Jack, John and Mike’s narration.]Jack's father: Thanks, Miss Fang. You sent my son to the hospital in time and let me know what happened immediately.John's mother: I am so sorry, Jack's father. The accident was a result of carelessness. I am a doctor. I’m certain that Jack’s eye is not hurt too badly. I will bear all the medical expenses and I know one excellent hospital.Jack's father: It’s not all your son’s fault. Now I just hope Jack’s eye wasn’t badly hurt.Miss Fang: I understand your feeling, Jack's father. I am so sorry.
Doctor: Jack's eye has no big problem, but he needs further treatments.All: My goodness.
