Concentration

- What do youdo to help you concentrate?

- What maydistract you when you are trying to stay focused?

- When do youneed to concentrate?

- Is it difficult for you to stay focused on something?

常考话题“Describe an award that you won”描述一个获得的奖项就会有所涉及。

Anything worthy of some serious attention, for example when taking tests in school, driving on the highway, or connecting with someone in a conversation. It occurs to me that the more we concentrate on doing something, better quality the outcome is.

A list of different things may get me sidetracked, like noises of any kind, loud music, WeChat messages, or people interrupting me. However, the biggest source of distraction for me has to be the smartphone, sometimes even during quiet moments, distraction may be literally at my fingertips as I find myself checking Instagram notifications or the latest news updates.

For me, caffeine is undoubtedly an attention booster. Start my day with a cup of Americano always makes me less apt to be distracted and better able to pay attention during a demanding task. Another alternative is to seek out a calm location where I will be able to work undisturbed, some examples of the good spots can be a library, a coffee shop, or just a private room in my home.
