图解《新概念英语》语法之表语从句

【配图注】好莱坞（Hollywood）位于美国西海岸加利福尼亚州洛杉矶（LosAngeles）郊外，是一个依山傍水，景色宜人的地方。最早是由摄影师寻找外景地时发现的，大约在20世纪初，这里便吸引了许多拍摄者，而后是一些为了逃避专利公司控制的小公司和独立制片商们纷纷涌来，逐渐形成了一个电影中心。好莱坞不仅是全球时尚的发源地，也是全球音乐电影产业的中心地带，拥有世界顶级的娱乐产业和奢侈品牌，引领并代表着全球时尚的最高水平，比如梦工厂、迪士尼、二十世纪福克斯、哥伦比亚影业公司、索尼公司、环球影业公司、华纳兄弟、派拉蒙等。

表语是英语区别于汉语所特有的一种句子成分，主要用来说明主语的身份、性质、品性、特征和状态等，一般跟在系动词后面。表语一般都由单词或短语来充当。如果句子的表语是由一个句子充当的，那么这个充当表语的句子就叫做表语从句。

连接表语从句的连接词主要有三类：

1、从属连词——that, whether, as if/as though等；

2、关系代词——who, which, what, whose, whom, whoever, whichever, whatever, whomever等；

3、关系副词——when, where, why, how等。

此外，because也可以引导表语从句。如：He finally passed the exam. That's because he had well prepared for it for long.
