you can say that again,不是真的要你再说一次

Mary said you were rude to her, you know better than that.

You know better than that. Now pick up the mess you made before going outside.

Come on, you know better than that.

(You can say that again),这不是字面上的告诉对方再说一遍,而是告诉对方你完全同意,例如:

A: This horrible weather has been killing me.

B: You can say that again!

A: It was a long year. We accomplished quite a bit.

B: I'm just glad that we're almost done.

A: You can say that again.

在英语口语中,you can say that again 相当于 I hear ya,you got that right 和 damn right 等,以及一个几乎家喻户晓的 I couldn't agree more,或 disagree more,例如:

We've heard what you've had to say, and frankly we couldn't agree more. It's just that we don't have the funding.

I couldn’t agree with you more about the need to hire extra staff.

类似的表示同意的表达方式还有 as you wish/like,I wouldn't say no (to sth),there you go 和 you said it 等等,例如:

as you wish/like:

A: I think we should leave now.

B: Very well. As you wish.

I wouldn't say no:

A: Do you want to try that new sushi place for lunch?

B: I wouldn't say no!

This winter has been too long and too cold—I wouldn't say no to a vacation on a sunny beach somewhere right about now.

there you go:

There you go! I knew you'd get the hang of it eventually!

you said it:

A: How stupid of me to lend him that money!

B: You said it!

1. get the hang of 意为“掌握…

2. eventually [ɪˈventʃuəli]
