广东省造双龙寿字币以其制作异常精美、存世量稀少而被列为中国近代机制币十大珍，也被人们千百年来的寻找与挖掘
从古至今，以祝寿为题材的瓷器和摆件数不胜数，以钱币作为祝寿主题的货币却极为罕见。在钱币收藏领域，有一种历史悠久的银币，因其制作精良，存世稀少，被列为中国近代机制币的十大珍品，也被人们千百年来寻找与挖掘，这就是广东省造双龙寿币。光绪三十一年(1905)初，为纪念慈禧七十寿辰而铸，因是限量发行，或未能正式流通，存世稀少，因而收藏价值较高。现代我国银币中，属于非常独特的一种。中国最早的机制洋式银，光绪元宝俗称“龙洋”，因银背面一般铸有龙纹而得名。
本品为广东省造的光绪元宝双龙寿字币库平七钱二，此种银币正面上端刻有“正品”四字，下端刻“正品”四字，上面刻有“正品”四字，上面刻有“正品”四字。银硬币背面的珠圈外铸双龙戏珠，内铸一圆“寿”字。银的设计极富特色，两边铸有一对蝙蝠图案，寓意吉祥。由于蝙蝠的“蝠”字与“福”字谐音，与“福”字背面的“寿”字对应，寓意“福寿双全”。
在所有中国龙洋纹银(包括国外发行的全部银币)中，广东双龙寿字币工艺最精湛，雕工最完美，浮雕感最强的品种，镜面平整，纹饰有很好的纹路，有很好的凹凸度，特别是广东双龙寿字币，纹路和边齿纹都是很好的。它作为流通货币(虽然不流通)，其暗记防伪更是前无古人，无可匹敌，钱币表面的包浆醇厚，甚至对银元没有研究的外行也是爱不释手，极具观赏性。
