序数词是表达顺序的数字。

序数词除了开头的三个词（first, second, third）有独特的形式外，其他大部分都是在基数词词尾加-th构成。

I’ve made only three New Year’s resolutions: the first is to learn more, the second is to take up a sport and the third is to go to the theater.

我只制订了三个新年计划：第一是学习更多的知识，第二是学一项运动，第三是去看戏。

序数词一般在句子中作主语、宾语、表语、定语等，序数词前需要加冠词the。

The first is the one we hear a lot about: college.

第一个是大家经常听到的：大学。

Take the first turn on the right and then the second turn on the left and you’ll get there.
