In recent years, people have become more and more attached to their smart phones, and an increasing number of apps are becoming an integral part of people’s live. Personally, I would like to talk about Pokemon Go, a location-based reality mobile game having gone viral in the last few weeks.

Well, I first got to know this game when I was browsing my wechat personal page two weeks ago. The page was filled with screenshots of this game. Having been told that Pokemon Go was currently unavailable at the app store in China, I immediately called my good friend who is now living in New York to share with me about her experiences of playing this game.

As far as I can tell from what she said, it is a huge multiplayer online GPS-dependent game app developed by Nintendo. It engages people to search areas to find Pokemon in the real world with the use of virtual reality (VR) and the camera of compatible devices.

One of the most important reasons why Pokemon Go becomes a monster hit is that you never know where you’re going to meet a new pokemon. Also, playing Pokémon GO isn’t actually just playing a game. You will quickly realize that you’re part of a global community that has a common goal and purpose—to catch them all. So, these are the reasons that I could come up with to explain why Pokémon GO is useful.
