Personal Experience on a well-organised one-day workshop in London
1.Register online
For intended audience, they launched it on Eventbrite with brief introduction and location, if you are interested in, you can register with your email and status in that website, then you get a free e-ticket by email. You also get an alert by email the day before the event.
2. 10:30
when I arrived and found get a name card and printed materials provided at the register desk, thenI can hang coat by myself at the left corner. I took a cup of tea or coffee by yourself at a mess (long table) then find a table to sit down at a round table, you can talk or read the materials.

3. 11.00
The organiser (some official in DfE, I figured out by the name card) The organiser went around the table to tell everyone
She then introduced two short intro-lectures(25min) with Q&A:
National School Commissioner
Why tackling teacher workload matters;
Director of Education in No More Marking
Reducing unnecessary assessment workload;
4.12.00
When we get the printed materials, we are already grouped into A B C D. The speaker stays in the same room and will talk 4 times, since every 30 minutes they get a new group around 15 people.
I had one with a researcher on 'workload and data use: putting the problem into context and identifying practical improvement’ first*.
The second one was a more casual one with two officers from Teacher Profession Unit, they introduced a bit on 'strengthening QTS(qualified teacher status) and supporting teacher profession’, then propose three questions for delegates to discuss:
What skills and topics should CPD(continual professional development) for teachers at the early stages of their career focus on?
What examples of great CPD have you experienced or been a part of? Are there any examples of best practice that you have observed in ITT(initial teacher training) or at school that you’ve worked with?
What are the hallmarks of high quality CPD and how can this be quality assured?
5.13:15
Lunch includes sandwiches (veg, ham) and roll, as well as coffee and tea, supported by the professional stuff from the university.

6.13.45
I have the afternoon workshop starting with someone who is the chair of the independent group who produced a review on teacher workload in 2016. The topic is 'reducing unnecessary workload by removing deep marking’**.
The final one is the reason why I am here (apart from free lunch). What I am doing now is related to the topic 'supporting NQTs and Early Career Teachers to thrive and not merely survive’.
The slides, same as the previous three, were all printed out with half slide, half lines for you to do notes. The journey went under the skin of work-life balance.
