Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (alloHCT) is a potentially curative strategy for patients with selected blood diseases. Complications of the procedure comprise most of all infections and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), which are the major causes of morbidity and mortality (45% of attributable deaths), apart from relapse.
