3.2 同一名词作可数名词与不可数名词的意义差别

3.某些名词用作复数时的意义扩大

有些不可数名词在作可数名词时常常以复数形式出现表示更为扩大的意义。例如：

There is life where there is water.

哪里有水，哪里就有生命。

结构分析：There is是系表型谓语（There是表语，is是系动词），life是主语，where there is water是地点状语从句。

Our ship is sailing in the waters of the East China Sea.

我们的船在东海水域航行。

结构分析：Our ship是主语，is sailing是谓语（现在进行时）， in the waters of theEast China Sea是地点状语。
