This is a chest PA and lateral in a patient with miliary TB. And we don't see this very often at all. What you should be on the lookout for is there's definitely evidence of adenopathy. You see hilar and mediastinal adenopathy. And also there's a diffuse micro nodular infiltrate seen bilaterally in the lungs, which is classic for a miliary TB pattern. In addition in this case, there's also an alveolar infiltrate with a little bit of cavitation there, in the superior segments of the right lower lobe. And we also have a right pleural effusion, which is partially loculated. So this is an example of miliary TB on a chest x-ray.

这是粟粒性结核的正侧位胸片。该病变不常见。需要注意的是存在明确的证据证实存在淋巴病变。可见肺门和纵膈淋巴结病变。同时两叶可见微小结节弥漫浸润，此为粟粒样结核典型表现。另可见右下叶上端肺泡轻度浸润伴空腔形成，同时右侧胸膜浸润，部分可见分隔。这是一例粟粒样结核的胸片表现。

1. miliary ['mɪlɪˌerɪ] adj. 栗粒状的

Resembling a millet seed in size (about 2 mm); Marked by the presence of nodules of millet seed size on any surface.

2. TB=tuberculosis [tu:ˌbɜ:rkjəˈloʊsɪs] n. 肺结核; [医] 结核病

Tuberculosis (TB) is a potentially fatal contagious disease that can affect almost any part of the body but is mainly an infection of the lungs. It is caused by a bacterial microorganism, the tubercle bacillus or Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Although TB can be treated, cured, and can be prevented if persons at risk take certain drugs, scientists have never come close to wiping it out. Few diseases have caused so much distressing illness for centuries and claimed so many lives.

3. adenopathy n. [医] 腺病，淋巴结肿大

Swelling or morbid enlargement of the lymph nodes.

4.pleural ['plʊərə] adj. 胸腔; 肋膜的，胸膜的

Pleural refers to the pleura or membrane that enfolds the lungs.

5. Loculated  adj. 包裹的，分房的
