那么，今天我们就来谈谈城市发展的话题。

1.经过相当长一段时间缓慢发展之后，中国的城市正迅速地向四面八方扩展开来。
Tip：
“向四面八方扩展开来”，也就是在每个方向都扩张，可以表述为expand in every direction。
2.如今，中国城市人口正以每年7%的速度增长，而在某些大城市里则达到了每年10%的增长。
Tip：
（1）“城市人口”的表达很简单，不多说。
（2）正以百分之n的速度增长，可以表述为“is increasing by 7% every year”,注意介词用by。
（3） “而在某些大城市…”，从逻辑上看是和前面那个小分句一个对比，对比的是增速，强调人口增长率在大城市里面更快，所以考虑增译as high as。
当然，这只是我个人意见。欢迎使用不同句型来翻译。
3.举一个可以看得见的例子，上海目前每小时就会增加10栋住宅（dewlling）和100平方米的道路，而且这个速度在未来几年并不会减慢（slacken）。
Tip：
（1）本句很长，虽然全句都是逗号连接实际上可以断成两句来翻译。
（2）举例子很简单，可以看得见的在文中可以引申为“明显的，显著的”，可以用visible，因为这个词兼有“可视的，明显的”双重含义，简直信达雅。
（3）本句大难点在于 “每小时就会增加10栋住宅（dewlling）和100平方米的道路”，我们不妨用英语思维思考。
（4）这个岂不是可以转换为“上海市城市规模在变大”，怎么变呢？以什么方式变呢？
可以考虑用by引导的方式状语，即以“每小时就会增加10栋住宅（dewlling）和100平方米的道路”这种方式扩大城市建设。
（5）“而且这个速度在未来几年并不会减慢（slacken）”，本句完全可以当成独立的句子来翻译。
可以进一步理解为“没有任何迹象/证据表明这个速度在未来几年会减慢”，这样就很容易表达了，加油！
英译汉
People who agree with the latter viewpoint believe that joint efforts from both the government and big enterprise are needed to better solve this problem. For one thing, big enterprises, especially real estate companies, have more professional insights into this issue. For another, housing problem is closely related to the overpopulation in big cities and the problem of overpopulation can not be solve in short term.
Based on the foregoing discussion, I would argue that the government, enterprise and individuals should join their efforts in order to effectively cope with this problem.

翻译：It is proved that the government of Chinese economy not only brings benefits to Chinese people, but also provides more chances for investment and wider market for other countries.
英译汉
People who side with the former opinion point out that only the government has the obligation and ability to make out policies to standardize the behaviors in house construction and purchasing. In addtion, only the government can provide sufficient fund and necessary facilities in the process of problem solving.
翻译：同意前一种观点的人指出，只有政府才有职责及能力出台相关政策来规范建房和购房行为。另外，只有政府能够在解决问题的过程中提供足够的资金及必需的设施。
