我买房子了 ≠ I bought a house
英语中普通人的住所主要有两种：一种是别墅house，一种是公寓apartment （英式英语flat）。所以如果你跟别人说：I bought a house. 是跟别人说你买了一栋别墅！妥妥的土豪呀！
我们日常说的“买房子”，一般是指单元房，即一栋楼里的一套房子。
正确的表达
I bought an apartment.（英式英语flat）
我的房子 = my apartment
我住的地方=my place
place 代表住的地方，不管是租还是买
例句
You can stay at my place when you are in Guangzhou.
你来广州，可以住在我那。
