Well, I just went to see Green Book not long ago. It was highly-recommended by my friend so I decided to go check it out. It was such a nice movie. It’s a road-trip drama that basically depicts a growing friendship between an African-American classical pianist and his Italian-American driver and bodyguard during their trip into the racially discriminatory area in America. The movie actually revealed the dark era of segregation in U.S. history. It is also tinged with comedy. Just like our society is sometimes cruel and it’s mixed with troubles and violence, but no matter what, we could always feel the humanity.
“Green Book” refers to a real book of the same name which was used to guide black people with hostels and restaurants that welcome them. And later Martin Luther King delivered his “I Have A Dream” speech which actually pushed the civil rights movement to a climax. I was quite touched by the movie. It narrates this dramatic road trip effortlessly. Yet, it makes people think.
