run about=run around=跑来跑去
比如I’ve been running about all afternoon
一般的这个短语中的about做副词, 直接说run about
但是原文中about则做介词, run about spl. 用法如图

dungeon=地牢 /ˈdʌndʒən/
a dark underground room used as a prison, especially in a castle
万圣节的时候, 有一只巨怪(troll)出现在学校的地牢中, 邓布利多教授带领众教授去地牢打怪

这里的was很轻, 几乎听不到, 语法补足

head sb off=阻止拦截某人
head表示朝向, off表示停止, 就是说你跑到他前边, 然后迫使他停下来
比如We’ll head them off at the bridge!
