it’s hard to remember=很难记得
back then=当年那个时候
注意这里并不是说我年纪大了, 记不得了
而是说大部分人都记不得了, 但是我年纪大, 所以才记得

fossil=化石 /ˈfɑsl/
可以用于形容某人年纪大, 难以接受新生物
这个词带有贬义, 但这里是用于描述自己, 是自嘲

为什么an old fossil听起来像是no fossil呢?
因为an old辅元连读, 读作[æn nəʊld]
他说了2遍, 第2遍说的是an old fossil
