病毒是无差别感染人的，而我们作为人，可以选择怎么对待人。

The virus infects anyone it can reach, but we as human beings, can choose the way we treat people.

这段开头我想了很久，还是决定用这句话作为开场白说明这篇我想传达的信息，也希望如果你只能记住一句话的话，记住这一句吧。

I have thought over and decided to use this as my first sentence to be clear with the message I want to deliver, and hope that if you can only remember one sentence, remember this.

开篇先要让一部分读者失望了。我的教育背景（学的地理与教育）以及个人偏好（喜欢艺术与人文社科类的读物）使得我对医疗卫生系统以及各种模型实在一无所知。

First my post today will let some readers down. My educational background (in geography and education) and personal habit (prefer reading art& humanities and social sciences) have made me not at a qualified professional position to judge the medical and health care system or commenting on predicting the models.

所以如果你想看有医学相关背景的人写的，我做不到。我一直都在看的这个公众号的作者有医学背景，今天也写了，不妨一看：

So if you are looking for the people who has a medical background, not me. One wechat official account I have been following recently has posted an article and the write has medical background, so maybe you can read if you understand Chinese:

并且我虽然因为生活在英国，对英国的一些政策有一点点了解，但我并非专家，这篇并不打算谈及政治。因为在我想传达的关键信息中，首相不仅是一个公众人物的符号，是承担着重要公职的人员，也首先是一个活生生的人。

As I live in UK so I know a little bit about the policy but I am not an expert, so this article is not referring to politics. Because in the key information I am trying to deliver, the PM is not just a public figure, a government official at a critical position, and also a person who is a living human being.

病毒是无差别感染人的，而我们作为人，可以选择怎么对待人。

The virus infects anyone it can reach, but we as human beings, can choose the way we treat people.

所以我今天这篇不打算评价他的任何政治观点，我就是说他作为一个人，确诊生病，还同时还保持着至少看起来还冷静自持的态度继续工作，这种大方承认的方式，比隐瞒公众躲起来治疗，他做的不是很多人都期待的信息清晰透明嘛！而且除了他，还有其他与他有接触官员也陆续出现症状，也都得到了公布。

So this article is to comment on any of his political opinion, I just want to say, he as a human being, get tested and confirmed, and remain a calm attitude to keep wordking, the way he deals with it, rather than hiding and trying to cure without informing anyone, what he does is what many peple expect to see, the information is clear and transparent. And besides him, his colleagues also have symptoms and get confirmed, also go public.

首相以及其同事确诊，能够及时公布，让全世界人民都知道。这在我看来，简直就是英国抗击疫情中的关键时刻，当然说明英国的疫情确实是严重，病毒的确无差别传染所有人，这样的方式也能更加引起公众对疫情与自己相距很近的重视。

PM and his close colleagues get confirmed and the situation can go public to everyone. To me, it is a key moment in defeating the cornavirus pandemic, the virus infects whoever it can reach, but the way PM repsond with his test result can also get more people being aware of the distance between the virus and daily life.

从我的视角看，病毒感染首相并不是病毒机智，病毒的本能就是传播扩散，不如佩服一下愿意公开承认的首相本人，也让他可以公开自己确诊的政府团队。

From what I see, the virus get to the PM is not because of its intelligence just the nature, why not just say you feel it is brave to admit his condition and also courageous for the team by allowing him to say this.

这是一种践行了"诚实是最好的政策”的选择，估计不是每个国家和政府或个人都会这么做的。不是他当了首相他就该这么做，这里面还是有他的选择，以及他所在的这个政治环境、社会生态是否让他可以这么做。

This is a choice of practicing "honesty is the best policy", probably not every country and government or individual would do this. It is because he is the PM so he should do this, there is still something called the choice he made, and also the political environment, the social ecology that allows him to do so.

我不去驳斥一些阴谋论说可能早就得了，今天才公开之类的。我还是倾向于相信他说的这些，先保留一点信任。我期待也相信他和每一个轻症患者都可以自愈或被治愈。

I do not want to argue with the conspiracy that he may already caught but not released until now. I still tend to belive what he said, giving some trust first. I expect and believe that he and everyone with mild-symptoms can get better by themselves or get cured by NHS.

所以在我看来，首相确诊这件事能够被及时公开，就意味着这届政府不会完，英国更不会完，因为还有可以继续向前走的重要核心——政府有勇气直接告诉公众真实的情况。

So as far as I am concerned, the PM is a confirmed case can be known to the public, means that this government will not go to its end, nor will Britain, because the significant core is still there: government has the courage to tell the public what is actually going on.

这样的坦诚比所有的技巧都要更厉害，或许这就是最高的执政之道，不把公众当作庸众，也不把自己看作拯救者。大家都是人，可以的时候，还是彼此理解多一点吧！

Being honest is better than all the techniques, maybe this is the best politician's choice, not treating the public as dumb crowd, nor considering oneself as a savior. We are all human beings, understand each other a bit more when we can.
