昨天我们学习了表达肯定的不同方式，今天该学习表达不肯定或否定的了。

No的另外形式：

Nope.

Nah.

Nay.

当有人向你提出问题，或者提出建议或要求时，你还可以用这些方式说No：

Not at all. 一点儿也不。

Of course not. 当然不。

Certainly not. 当然不。

No can do! 不行！

不太肯定的否定：

Not really. 不太……。

程度比较强烈的否定：

No way! 没门儿！

Never! 永不！

By no means. 绝对不行。

以下委婉的说法可以让No听上去更容易接受：

I'm afraid not. 我恐怕不行。

Sadly I have something else. 可惜我有其他事。

I’d love to — but can’t. 我真想，但不行。

If only I could! 真希望我能！

Maybe another time. 或者下次吧。

You must be joking/kidding. 你开开玩笑吧。

如果别人提出要给你什么，你可以这样说No：

No thanks. 不，谢谢。

No thank you. 不，谢谢你。

Thanks, but no thanks. 谢谢，不过不用了，谢谢。

Thanks all the same. 还是要谢谢你。

让我们在对话中熟练掌握：

A: Do you want me to help you?

B: Nope. I can do it on my own, thanks.

A：你想我帮你吗？

B：不。我能自己做。谢谢。

A: Is my music bothering you?

B: Not at all. Play it as loud as you like.

A：我的音乐吵到你了吗？

B：一点都不。你想放多大声都行。

A: You're not thinking of leaving your husband, are you?

B: Of course not. I'm just really angry with him.

A：你不是想要离开你丈夫，是吗？

B：当然不。我只是很生他的气。

A: Do you want me to tell him for you?

B: Certainly not! I'm quite capable of doing it myself.

A：你想我帮你告诉他吗？

B：当然不。这事我自己完全办得到。

A: Please fix my car today.

B: No can do. It'll take a week to get the parts.

A：请今天修好我的车。

B：不行。弄到零件要一个星期。

A: Do you want to come to the movie with us?

B: Not really. I think I'll just stay in and read.

A：你想跟我们一起去看电影吗？

B：不太想。我想我还是留在家里看书吧。

A: Will you take off your clothes for the photograph?

B: No way!

A：你能把衣服脱掉拍这张照片吗？

B：没门儿！

A: Want a ride on the back of my motorcycle?

B: You must be kidding.

A：想要坐我的摩托车去兜风吗？

B：你开玩笑吧。

A: Would you like to borrow this book?

B: I've already read it, thanks all the same.

A：你想要借这本书吗？

B：我已经读过了，还是谢谢你。
