We'll need to take stock before we move everything into the new warehouse. Be sure to take stock of the ingredients we have left at the end of the week so I can order more for Monday.
inventory:
Some stores inventory their stock once a week.
The judge ordered that all property should be inventoried before any more sales were made.
Take stock 对应的名词是 stocktaking,stock-taking 或 stock taking,因此还可以用短语 do stocktaking 来表达盘货,例如:It is time for a stocktaking. The car maker will stop its production lines for three days next week for stocktaking.Next week we shall be closed for stock-taking.
After two years spent teaching overseas, she returned home for a month to take stock of her life.Moving forward, we'll be holding biweekly meetings to take stock of our financial situation. It's good to stop every now and then and take stock of where your life is going.Almost getting in an accident yesterday has forced me to take stock of my life and to decide what is important.
Can you go over these instructions again? I'm still a little confused.I won't know how successful it is until an accountant has gone over the books.
The acid test for the vaccine will be its performance in the south where the disease is more widespread. These deals are designed to encourage impulse buying, so the acid test is whether you would have bought anyway. They’ve always been good friends, but the acid test will come when they have to share a flat.
1. biweekly [ˌbaɪˈwiːkli] 意为”双周的,两周一次的“2. impulse [ˈɪmpʌls] 意为”冲动,心血来潮,一时的念头“等3. now and then 意为”时而,有时“
