01

roll off one's tongue /rəʊl/ /tʌŋ/

The secret rolled off Lily's tongue.

A:Tom is very impolite.I dislike him.

B:Yeah, obscenities often roll off his tongue.

tell sth.without thinking表示

Lily told me the secret without thinking.

02

have a bone to pick /bəʊn/

Tony has a bone to pick with Mike.

A:Don't go away.I still have a bone to pick with you.

B:For what?

03

pick on

Jack couldn't bear his wife picking on him.

A:You coward!

B:Don't pick on me! I've tried my best.

scold/blame sb.for sth.表示

或者说成是blame sth.on sb.

Mom is scolding Bob for his careless mistake.

04

be stunned /stʌnd/

Mike was stunned by hearing the news.

A:I'm totally stunned by the news.

B:Me too.

dumbfounded /dʌmˈfaʊndɪd/ 表示

He was dumbfounded when he heard that he had failed the exam.

05

be entranced by /ɪnˈtrɑːnst/

Mary is often entranced by a book.

A:What are you reading? You seem to be entranced by it.

B:Yeah,it's my favorite writer's latest book.

常用的搭配是be enthralled by“被…
